Our one layer custom leather gun belts are made from thick 12-14 oz (+.2 inches) bridle leather. All gun belts have six holes. The sixth hole is in the length direction. So from the short direction there will be two holes from the "center hole measurement" and three hole from the CHM going in the length direction. There is approximately four inches from the last hole to the belt tip for belts with one keeper. There is approximately five inches from the last hole to tip with two keeper belts. Belts with a CHM of 50" or greater will normally have seven holes. Space between holes is 1". The number of holes noted above also applies to double layer gun belts.
These gun belts are hand made in the USA by me. This is high quality medium brown, dark brown, and black bridle leather. The front and back of the belt is finished at the tannery. The dark brown and black bridle leather edges are beveled, burnished and dyed black. Medium brown belt edges are dark brown. This is a great belt to wear even without a gun and also makes a fantastic work belt.
This belt is available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" widths.
The belt pictured above right is 1-3/4" wide with brown stitching and a stainless steel roller buckle (buckle #1-2-7).
Information on available buckles is listed below.
Our two layer custom leather gun belts are made for those who need the additional firmness to support a heavier firearm and accessories without sagging. This belt is made from two layers of 9-10 oz harness leather or 10-12 oz Bridle leather. The top layer is 1/4" narrower than the bottom layer and goes around the back of the belt to provide the needed strength of a double layer belt but with less weight and bulk. This reinforced design also makes it easier to go through belt loops, and is a comfortable belt to wear. The belt shown above right is 1-1/4" wide with a stainless steel buckle. The bottom layer is black harness leather and the top layer is medium brown harness leather with brown stitching.
The black on black harness leather gun belt on the left has two keeper loops. Two keeper loops add 1" in length to the belt tongue. Six holes are punched for all gun belts. There are three holes longer and two shorter from the center hole. The reason for this is because our gun belts may have thicker leather than the regular belt you measured plus in winter with heaver clothing you may want to let the belt out one hole. Five holes are also available on request. Make a note in comment field if you prefer five holes.
The edges of the double layer leather gun belts are beveled, burnished and dyed.
This is also a great belt to wear even without a firearm. Makes a great work belt. The two layer gun belt on the right is tan on black harness leather with a solid brass roller buckle.
The double layer leather gun belts are available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" widths.
The above double layer gun belt is 1-1/4" wide tan harness leather with a solid brass roller buckle.
A tapered double layer belt is also available. We do not recommend it as a gun belt because the narrow tapered section may twist when the belt is loaded with a gun and gear. Although It does make a nice looking casual belt plus a great work belt. The tapered belt shown is black bridle top layer with a chestnut bridle base layer.
